My life-changing list of top 3-seater sofas in Montenegro
Montenegro is awash with sofas. Many of them cheap. But unfortunately, many of them also vaguely remind me of the Starship Enterprise. All pouched armrests and humungous bulbous proportions. Definitely built for comfort as they say. But sadly, not for style.
I am embarking on the second renovation of my tiny period property in Kotor Old Town. And all the old furniture is going. Good riddance to it too, I say. (And I’m looking at you in particular, you ugly bi-fold door wardrobe that almost takes my finger off whenever I close it too quickly).
Included in this rather happy cleansing of the furniture has been the sofa. A pale green corner sofa bed, which to be fair hasn’t been too bad (as a sofa at least). And it was the best I could find in 2005. And believe you me, there was no furniture shop left unturned in my hunt back then.
New layout & new sofa for my Montenegro apartment
During this current renovation I am rejigging the kitchen layout, so that I can have a proper breakfast bar as well as a dining table. The room is about 4 x 4 metres plus a small kitchen galley and previously I had a little L shaped breakfast bar, which never really worked very well. And it gave a whole new meaning to the term intimate dining.
This time around I can’t fit in a corner sofa, as the new sofa will have to go on the other side of the room (to make way for the table). So, I have been on the hunt for a 3-seater sofa. Something to fit the new vibe I am trying to create. A combination of modern mid-century / minimalist Italian, mixing the old with the new. (Well, that’s the plan anyway!)
Shopping in Montenegro is better now than it was in 2005 when I bought my apartment. Soooo much more choice. But it still isn’t always easy. So, I thought I would share my shortlist of sofas for all those in search of a stylish, angular 3-seater sofa in Montenegro.
Which doesn’t take you back to the 1980s.
Best 3-seater sofas in Montenegro
1. Check out the new Turkish furniture store, Dogtas
I actually discovered Dogtas, the large Turkish-owned furniture shop in Podgorica, after I had bought my couch. So, I didn’t linger too long over sofas (as I didn’t want to upset myself if I saw a better one!). The store has some nice sofas with decent prices from around 800 euros – as well as some great furniture, all spread across 4 floors. It was a shame I found them too late. (But there’s always a next time).
2. Style with the Habitat Riva sofa
I was delighted when I found out that Habitat had opened a store in Podgorica. When I visited the small 2 floor store in Podgorica I saw the modern-shaped Riva there. Priced at 1,799 euros it came in a natural weave fabric and has a nice level of squishiness which makes it pretty comfortable. The Podgorica Habitat can order anything shown on the French Habitat website.
3. Sink into the comfy Chelsea sofa from Eurocasa
OK. This photo may not be winning any photography awards, but believe me it is a lovely sofa. At 1,990 euros (reduced from 2,408 euros) it is not cheap. However this neat angular sofa from Eurocasa in Radanovici is extremely comfortable and the fabric is a nice, natural texture. You can order from a range of fabrics too and you will need to wait 2 months for delivery.
4. Affordable midcentury style with Ikea’s Landskrona sofa
Good old Ikea. I have always loved the Landskrona sofa and considered it for my UK home. Sofa Bed in Podgorica can order anything from the Hungarian Ikea. They do charge a commission on top (about 33% roughly for larger items), but it includes assembly of furniture (yay!) and delivery is only 30 euros for Kotor or free for orders over 1,500 euros. The price for the Landskrona 3-seater sofa in dark grey is 880 euros.
If you are looking for a 3-seater sofa in Montenegro that converts to a proper sprung bed, then the best option I could find (without having to throw my style vision out of window), was Ikea’s Vimle. Sofabed charge 1,494 euros for this in the black-blue fabric option.
5. Well-priced Netha sofabed at Enza
We close with number 5 which was the actual couch I bought in the end. (Pause for big drum roll).
It is the 3-seater sofa Netha from Enza in Podgorica. Enza has an excellent choice of sofas with reasonable prices. Not bargain-basement cheap (head to Zecanka or Namos for those). But the prices are reasonable and importantly, they have some style.
My final choice of sofa was ultimately swayed by wanting to be able to accommodate an extra person in the apartment on occasion. But I wanted to keep within my 1,000 euros max budget ideally without compromising on style. Netha came in at 1,065 euros (plus a small discount) and the back 2 cushions easily slide back to make a large single bed.
It is perhaps not the comfiest of all the sofas in my top 5, but it will be great for those times when you want to spread out a bit more as the bed mechanism means you can easily make the seating area a very slouch-worthy 90 cm wide. Perfect for puttiing your feet up for some ipad time. You know, when all that sun, sea and beautiful Montenegrin scenery gets a bit too much.
My final choice of sofa was ultimately swayed by wanting to be able to accommodate an extra person in the apartment.
So, there you have it. My list of top 3-seater sofas in Montenegro. I can’t promise it will change your life to be honest. (Sorry if you’ve been waiting for that bit). But it might just keep your sanity a little bit more intact during your search for the perfect couch. One that bears no resemblance to a spaceship whatsoever.
Just what the style doctor ordered.

Greetings,
in the end, how are you now satisfied with Netha sofa?
I am planing to buy NETHA CORNER SET so looking for other experiences.
Hi Stefan I haven’t actually tried the Netha sofa out yet, as I haven’t been able to get to Montenegro all year! The sofa is sitting in my apartment waiting to be unwrapped. Sorry, I can’t give you more feedback at the moment. All the best with it though.
